New York/Dublin: American rapper Azealia Banks has accused Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor of sending her unsolicited, sexually explicit images and threatening her afterward. The allegations surfaced early Monday when Banks, 34, posted screenshots of the alleged direct messages to her public X (formerly Twitter) account. The posts have since gone viral, sparking widespread backlash and reigniting public scrutiny over McGregor’s history of misconduct.
In the first of a series of posts, Banks wrote: “How you gonna send a b*** some crooked d*** pics then threaten her not to tell? N**** do you know who the f*** I am? This is HARAM.”* The rapper also attached two unblurred photographs allegedly showing McGregor, 36, naked in front of a mirror, with one image appearing to show him lifting weights using his genitals.

UFC Fighter’s Alleged Text Message: “Don’t Be a Rat, Cos All Rats Get Caught”
Banks alleges that after sending the photos, McGregor followed up with a message that read: “Don’t be a rat cos all rats get caught.” In subsequent posts, she called out the fighter’s behavior and questioned his rumored political ambitions in Ireland: “Ain’t u trying to be the president of Ireland? What is it giving fam? Use some f***** sunscreen damn.”*
The singer’s posts quickly gained traction, with the hashtag #McGregor trending across platforms. As of Monday morning, the photos remained online. McGregor has not issued any public response, and representatives for both parties have not responded to media inquiries.
Banks, known for her outspoken online presence, made it clear she does not intend to be silenced. “Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d** then threaten me not to tell?”* she wrote.
McGregor’s History of Legal and Public Controversies
This is not McGregor’s first brush with controversy. In 2023, he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman during the NBA Finals at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Although the Florida State Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges, the woman later filed a civil lawsuit, which remains ongoing.
In January 2025, McGregor was photographed kissing an unidentified woman on a beach, despite being engaged to long-time partner Dee Devlin. And in Ireland earlier this year, McGregor was ordered to pay nearly €200,000 in damages in connection with a separate sexual misconduct claim.
The fighter, who hasn’t competed professionally in over four years, has recently expressed interest in a political run in Ireland. The timing of these latest allegations could significantly derail those ambitions.
